This 19.5 “ long necklace and pendant is made of hand-formed porcelain beads decorated with the colors of life seen around the edge of a pond: The British soldier moss that grows on the rotting bark under the old spruce shading a part of the water; the rich, green-brown mud, the source of so much life; the red of tiny spotted newts; the swirl of the tall grasses that conceal the edge of the pond; the grandfather bullfrog who loves to sun himself on the smooth gray rock that’s too far out into the water for the fox; and the lily pads where the dragon flies rest and visit.
Decorated with polychrome engobes, clear glaze and luster, strung on silk, with a hand-wrought sterling clasp.
