Inspired by the uplifting blues and greens of Bermuda (and a visit to the Bermuda aquarium), this piece nearly made itself.
The island appears as the green top of a great underwater mountain, surrounded by the most beaurifully-colored sea a late winter traveller could imagine. Beautiful dry breezes, colorful architecture with the Bermudian white roofs, and a population of relaxed and generous prople create an inspiring atmosphere that invites visitations from one's personal muse. Bermuda can't help but be an inspiration for new work.
Hand-sculpted porcelain beads decorated with polychrome underglazes and engobes, clear glaze and luster. Strung on aqua silk, with a sterling clasp.
